Maps 37

Level – El Bosque Bravo

Author: Blackwater_CA
Source: Oovee

This is a must have map if you like dense grass and trees and paths that are not easy to drive on. The first hundred meters gives a real good idea of what the rest of the map is like.

    Blackwater_CA, You’ve done it again!

This is the second map now by Blackwater, and seriously, this guy knows how to make a trail with some challenge.

I’ve just uncloaked the 4th or 5th point now, and still, I have no idea how I’m going to go about maneuvering the C4320 out of the Garage area. I can see this map becoming a community favourite very fast!

    5/5 Excellent Map!

It is a good map.. lots of twisty paths to discover, it does also have its flaws. Reported them to Blackwater and no doubt they will be corrected.

      See here for the glitches

When i download this, its fine but then i cant put the files into the Levels in the spintires folder. I am using winrar and when ui try to put these files into it, it doesnt let me put these files into the levels folder.

You are trying to put the files into the file are you? Use 7 zip to unpack the zip and then using windows explorer to copy the files into media\levels. If I remember I will make a how-to on coming Monday.

in the pictures its shows the landrover, do i have to find it in game, or do i change a file name to a truck, so i spawn with it at the start?

I did install the landrover separate from the map. Just rename the landrover type of your choice to whichever truck the map begins with and you are good to go.

You should be playing the map in the legacy build of the game in Steam. Activate it the same way you would activate a beta version.

Nice twisting roads…and good looking map but there are roads that are too narrow for uaz, much more to a truck, loaded.More kind of exploring map instead and not so much lumber map, but it`s cool…is blackwater style:)there is a cloack that turns out impossible to me….and is the one right in the middle.Believing that all has been tested by author, do you guys have any tips for central cloacking?this is the only map i din`t complete…i have verion 1 of map
    Thanks for the work blackwater

I downloaded the map and put the level in the levels folder and the map in the maps folder, but when I open up the game and click play it loads for a second, then tells me ok. Is there something I’m doing wrong? It looks like a great map! Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Guys,

In this article ( it says that anything suffixed with _latest_stable should work in the current version of Spin Tires. I have downloaded this map and put the contents of the media folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Spintires\Media\

The map shows up in the game, all be it without a thumbnail. And when I go to play it it tells me that files are missing. Really keen to play this map after seeing it on YouTube so your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah sorry bout that.. Pavel is not making it easy for us all. I try to keep my filenames uniform for better handling by the download filesystem. Which can lead to unfortunate events like this. The Bosque map is sadly not yet converted and possible it never will, i would need the original files to rebuild the map from scratch.

Sometimes I don’t get it. Why would he need to change the filenames and such? Does he not get that mods keep his game alive?

Don’t you also need the authors permission as well to modify / update their map / as well?

I did not modify the map myself otherwise i would have stated that. And no i don’t think Blackwater will object to this. This way his maps live to ride another day. Which is good for the game.

I do not mind, as long as I still get credit for creating the map. I want to also thank everyone for enjoying my maps!

I agree that the modders are the people who kept the game alive for all this time and it is good for the game. I think Oovee should be more thankful of the map makers especialy and forgive the fact that the maps were made with an illegal copy of the combine tools and is no longer tollerated but they will provide a tool if they want to update their map to the new format but you need your original files. I kinda remember reading something like that on the official forums anyway and thought that alot of the older maps were not going to be converted because of several reasons like the map maker would be upset with what Oovee said about them and etc. I know that if I had made maps with the illegal combine tools. I would have a problem with my map being converted because Oovee left a bitter taste in my mouth. Im glad not that I chose to wait for the leagal copy of the combine tools but now I have no desire to learn how to make one. What you do here is a great service to the spintires gaming community in keeping as many of these mods up to date and keeping them organized.

It was just a curiosity question I had because I remember a couple of mod maps I downloaded in 2014 had I believe the raw map file that you may be looking for. I just checked the zip file from 2014 but it only had the .,stg file. Is their a file extension that I could keep my open for that would help with the map conversions of the older maps?
